KFC Honey BBQ Wings

Who remembers those wings from KFC? You know the ones with the crispy breading that were so steamy and saucy that the box used to get soggy. Well, we do! “KFC Honey BBQ Wings,” and despite the occasional “limited time deal,” these wings have been gone way too long, and honestly, we’re tired of asking them to bring them back permanently. So, we recreated their famous Honey BBQ Wings at home, and between us, they may be better than the originals. They’re sticky, sweet, smoky, and dare I say, “finger lickin’ good.”

Step 1
Season chicken wings with season all, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper, accent, and paprika.

Step 2
For the dry batter, combine flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and season with the same seasoning, except for paprika.

Step 3
For the egg wash, whisk together eggs and milk, and lightly season with season all.

Step 4
Coat chicken wings with the dry batter, then the egg wash, and lastly, back into the dry batter. Allow the chicken wings to rest for 10 minutes.

Step 5
Fry chicken wings for 6 – 8 minutes.

Step 6
For the sauce, combine original BBQ sauce, honey, and liquid smoke, and simmer for 5 minutes.

Step 7
Brush the sauce on the chicken wings.

Step 8
Enjoy!
