Description

Get set for the Super Bowl with our delicious Cowboy Sliders! These sliders have everything you want for game day in one bite: juicy seasoned ground beef, melted cheddar and Colby Jack cheese, smoky bacon, crispy fried onions, a little jalapeño heat, and a tasty cowboy butter on top. They’re savory, a bit messy in a good way, and sure to be gone before halftime. You can even make them ahead of time so you won’t miss any of the action.

Directions

Step 1

Dice the yellow onion and shallot, mince the garlic, and slice the jalapeños.

Step 2

Chop the chives and parsley, then pull the thyme leaves from the stems and give them a fine chop.

Step 3

Slice bacon into strips.

Step 4

Shred cheddar and colby jack cheese.

Step 5

Melt butter on a low heat. Once melted, stir in the diced shallot and minced garlic, and cook for about 1 minute, just until fragrant.

Step 6

From there, add the chives, parsley, thyme, lemon zest, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir everything together until fully combined, then let it simmer for about two minutes so all those flavors can come together.

Step 7

Remove the butter from the heat and set it aside to cool completely.

Step 8

Cook the bacon until crispy, then transfer it to a plate and blot away the excess grease. In the same pan, add the onions and sauté for 2–3 minutes.

Step 9

Add the ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks, and cook until completely browned. Add Worcestershire sauce and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Once fully cooked, drain off any excess grease and set it aside.

Step 10

Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half and place the bottoms in a baking dish. Spread a generous layer of cowboy butter across the rolls, then layer on the ground beef, crispy bacon, and jalapeños. Finish with cheddar cheese, crispy onions, and Colby Jack.

Step 11

Add the top buns and brush them with more cowboy butter.

Step 12

Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

Step 13

Enjoy.
