Crawfish Pies

Description
Laissez les bon temps rouler! Nothing screams “let the good times roll” like a crawfish pie. Crawfish pies are primarily served during Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest, two of New Orleans’ most notable events. When New Orleans is mentioned, two thoughts come to mind: good food and a good time. These savory pies embody that spirit.
Directions
Step 1
Dice yellow onion, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and celery.
Step 2
Chop green onion and fresh parsley.
Step 3
Mince garlic.
Step 4
Follow the directions on your package to prepare the pie shells.
Step 5
In a pan, melt butter.
Step 6
Add veggies and sauté for 5 minutes or until translucent.
Step 7
Add minced garlic.
Step 8
Reduce the heat and add crawfish tails.
Step 9
Add shrimp and crab boil.
Step 10
Season with creole seasoning, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.

Add parsley.

Add seafood stock.

In a bowl, combine heavy whipping cream and cornstarch.

Add the mixture to the pie filling, simmer, and continuously stir for 5 minutes or until it thickens.
Step 15
Remove the filling from the heat and allow it to cool for 20-30 minutes.
Step 16
Add a scoop of filling to the pie shells.
Step 17
Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

- 12 oz crawfish tails
- 10 - 12 mini pie shells
- ½ yellow onion
- 5 stalks of green onion
- ½ green bell pepper
- ½ red bell pepper
- 2 stalks of celery
- 6 cloves of garlic
- fresh parsley
- 8 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- ½ cup heavy whipping cream
- ½ cup seafood stock
- ½ cap shrimp and crab boil
- creole seasoning
- black pepper
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- cayenne pepper
