MF Cookin

Hey there! You may have heard that “Dem MFers be Cookin”. Their names are Moses and Jas. Moses and Jas are self-taught home chefs who were born and raised in New Orleans, LA. Growing up in New Orleans, they experienced the rich culture and food, which greatly influenced their love for cooking.

At a young age, Moses began cooking, grilling, and even baking alongside his grandmother. Jas also began to find her way around the kitchen at a young age, finding and crafting recipes to be her own. Moses and Jas began dating in 2014 and quickly discovered one another’s love for cooking. The couple bonded over cooking and trying new restaurants, among other things. Ultimately, cooking meals for one another turned into friendly competitions where they would try to one-up each other. These friendly competitions eventually led to the creation of Moses Family Cookin, better known as MF Cookin. MF Cookin is where Moses and Jas share their love of cooking with you! If you want to explore your taste buds from the comfort of your home, you’ve come to the right place. Welcome to the family!

about Moses

Wassup Y’all!? My name is Cornell Moses, but I go by Moses. Moses tends to stick with people, I guess, for obvious reasons. I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. I’m a self-taught home chef and content creator.

I began cooking at a young age alongside my mama. By the way, I was raised by my late grandmother, who I refer to as my “mama.” She’s my reason why. When I cook, I can feel her presence in the kitchen. That’s one thing about my mama: You could always find her in the kitchen. For that reason, the kitchen holds a special place in my heart.

about Jas

Hey y’all! My name is Jasmine, but you can call me Jas. I was born and raised in “the big easy,” New Orleans, Louisiana. I am a self-taught home chef and content creator, but I wear many hats. Not only am I one-half of MF Cookin, but I am also a doctoral student studying public policy with a focus on social policy.

My love for cooking started at a tender age as I began watching and helping my mom in the kitchen, particularly for family gatherings and holidays. Soon, I started making dishes of my own, and my passion for cooking grew. I found comfort in cooking. Cooking is my therapy; it brings me peace and enjoyment.
