Directions

Step 1

Dice yellow onion, celery, green bell pepper and a jalapeño. 

Step 2

Chop green onion. 

Step 3

Mince garlic.

Step 4

In a pan, breakdown ground beef and ground pork. Cook until browned. 

Step 5

Once browned, add the veggies.

Step 6

Sauté for 5 minutes. 

Step 7

Add minced garlic. 

Step 8

Add beef broth. 

Step 9

Season with creole seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder and cayenne pepper. 

Step 10

Allow the broth to simmer for 6-8 minutes or until the broth cooks down. 

Step 11

Once the broth is mostly gone, add flour. 

Step 12

Add pie filling to the center of the empanada dough. Fold over and press the edges down. Use a fork to press and seal the edges of the pie. 

Step 13

Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden.
